About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Act as an advanced Subject Matter Expert on AML/CFT frameworks, ensuring operations align with multi-jurisdictional licensing obligations and internal risk appetites
- Oversee complex investigations and review unusual player activity
- Draft Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) for direct submission to the MLRO
- Conduct and oversee transaction and behavioral monitoring
- Identify emerging high-risk typologies, affordability red flags, and complex financial crime patterns
- Lead Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) investigations and set standards for Source of Funds and Source of Wealth verification
- Lead investigations into PEP screenings, sanctions matches, and adverse media
- Ensure precise risk scoring and timely resolutions
- Contribute to AML/CFT procedures, automated detection rules, and player affordability assessment frameworks
- Guide and mentor junior team members through QA reviews, KPI analysis, and feedback loops
- Partner with the MLRO on regulatory reporting, audit preparation, and group compliance projects
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 3+ years of AML/CFT experience within the iGaming or Financial Services sector
- Proven track record handling high-risk cases and regulatory complexities
- Expert knowledge of international AML/CFT frameworks
- Expert knowledge of sanctions compliance and risk mitigation strategies
- Exceptional analytical and investigative abilities
- Ability to identify patterns, connect disparate data points, and conduct deep-dive risk assessments autonomously
- Experience guiding, mentoring, and upskilling junior analysts
- Ability to provide constructive feedback through QA frameworks
- Strategic problem-solving ability
- Affinity for automation and compliance technology
- Ability to leverage emerging tools to optimize detection rules and streamline monitoring workflows
- Native-level or fluent professional English, written and verbal
- Ability to translate complex information clearly and concisely
- Flexible, adaptable, open-minded, and collaborative approach to problem-solving and process improvement
