About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing skilled maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance activities across a variety of building systems and equipment.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment.
- Maintain and repair plumbing systems, fixtures, and appliances.
- Perform basic electrical maintenance, including replacement and repair of switches, outlets, light fixtures, ballasts, and related components.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems and associated equipment.
- Respond to maintenance service requests and emergency repair situations.
- Assist with carpentry, mechanical repairs, and general building upkeep.
- Maintain and repair specialized commercial facility assets, including overhead doors and related equipment.
- Conduct routine facility inspections to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.
- Support facility improvement projects and equipment installations.
- Isolate, diagnose, and resolve complex maintenance issues affecting facility operations.
- Utilize maintenance management and computerized purchasing systems to order parts, materials, and supplies.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, equipment repairs, and preventive maintenance activities.
- Recommend corrective actions and long-term solutions to recurring maintenance issues.
- Follow all safe work practices and company safety procedures.
- Adhere to confined space, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and working-at-heights requirements.
- Identify hazards and implement appropriate mitigation measures before work begins.
- Ensure work complies with applicable codes, manufacturer specifications, and company policies.
- Maintain awareness of guest and employee safety while performing maintenance activities.
- Demonstrate strong teamwork by supporting colleagues and contributing to shared goals.
- Communicate timelines, priorities, and updates clearly and effectively.
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of experience in skilled building trades, commercial maintenance, industrial maintenance, or a related field.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing multiple building systems preferred.
- Ability to pass: Pre-employment non-DOT drug screening, Fit-for-duty medical capacity examination, Criminal background check.
- Demonstrated proficiency or certification in at least two (2) of the following disciplines: General maintenance, HVAC systems, Mechanical systems, Electrical systems and controls, Pipefitting/plumbing, Welding.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Working knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and maintenance management systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, and schematics.
