About the role

  • Independently and responsibly process payroll for a defined area, ensuring compliance with current social security, wage tax, and collective bargaining/tariff law requirements and guidelines
  • Maintain employee master data and time-recording systems from onboarding to offboarding
  • Serve as a knowledgeable point of contact for employees and managers on wage tax, social security, and collective bargaining/tariff law matters
  • Prepare all payroll-relevant data on time, including month-end and year-end closing activities, taking SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) requirements into account
  • Support the preparation of reports and assist during audits and inspections
  • Correspond with authorities, health insurance funds, insurers, and other agencies
  • Produce statistics, analyses, and certification documents
  • Maintain personnel files

Requirements

  • Completed commercial or tax-related vocational training, ideally supplemented by further qualification as a payroll accountant or HR clerk
  • Proven professional experience in payroll accounting and the ability to independently clarify and process payroll-related issues
  • Comprehensive, up-to-date knowledge of wage tax, social security, and employment law; ideally initial experience with the ERA collective agreement (metal and electrical industry)
  • Experience with common payroll software and with time-recording systems
  • Ideally experience with SAP SuccessFactors and ADP/LOGA
  • High self-motivation, commitment, and the ability to think cross-functionally, combined with reliability and trustworthiness
  • Enjoys working in a team and exchanging information with colleagues
  • Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken
  • Confident user of MS Office products, particularly MS Excel
