About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • The Engineer, Access Control Systems is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining security access control systems across Colovore's data center sites and construction projects.
  • This role partners closely with Facilities, Construction, Operations, Engineering, IT, Network, Compliance and vendor teams to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable access control solutions.
  • The position combines system design, programming, installation, integration, and quality control in fast-paced, mission-critical environments.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in physical security system installation, configuration, and programming in mission-critical or enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated experience applying PoLP and RBAC principles to access group design in facilities with stringent security requirements.
  • Hands-on experience configuring mantraps, interlock systems, or layered physical security solutions.
  • Proven ability to serve as the primary point of contact for physical security vendor partners, leading competitive bid processes, scoping engagements, and overseeing installation execution to ensure on-time delivery and quality outcomes.
  • Experience with low-voltage wiring standards and both electronic security and video surveillance hardware: panels, readers, controllers, door hardware, cameras, NVRs, etc.
  • Solid understanding of network fundamentals including IP addressing, subnets, and device configuration.
