About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee, mentor and evaluate teacher candidates in-person during their clinical practice experiences.
- Observe and evaluate teacher candidates face-to-face in the Denver metro area.
- Attend scheduled meetings with School of Education Clinical Practice Coordinators.
- Guide candidate progress in meeting state and School of Education standards.
- Instruct, guide, and coach assigned undergraduate students who are candidates for Colorado teacher licensure, through observation, feedback, facilitative conferencing, and performance evaluation.
- Prepare written summaries for all observations.
- Read and react to written reflections of students weekly.
- Communicate with students in a timely manner.
Requirements
What you’ll need- A Master's degree in education, administration or doctorate in education field.
- Experience in Math or Special Education at the Secondary level.
- Current or recent Colorado Teaching /Professional Educator License preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in supervising or critiquing other’s performance.
- Previous leadership experience in a school setting.
- Excellent written and oral interpersonal communication skills.
- Documented history of working well as a team member.
- Proficiency in computer usage and able to use appropriate software and technology in the learning environment.
- A Passion for higher education and dedication to excellence in teacher preparation.
