About the role

  • Serve as a strategic partner to the Director of Faculty Development, contributing to departmental vision, priorities, and the advancement of faculty development systems and initiatives.
  • Manage and direct the Faculty Mentoring Program, ensuring effective onboarding, development, and support of new and existing faculty.
  • Coordinate and execute New Faculty Orientation, ensuring faculty readiness for teaching in an online adult learning environment.
  • Oversee faculty performance monitoring systems, including the review and analysis of coaching observations, engagement metrics, and instructional quality indicators.
  • Develop and deliver faculty performance reports, providing data-informed insights, identifying trends, and supporting academic leadership in decision-making.
  • Oversee and coordinate the Faculty Course Review process, including evaluation, feedback, and follow-up support to ensure continuous instructional improvement.
  • Plan, develop, and deliver faculty development training, ensuring alignment with best practices in online pedagogy, andragogy, student engagement, and assessment.
  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of faculty development resources, including the integration and strategic utilization of external professional development partnerships (e.g., Online Learning Consortium), ensuring resources are accessible, aligned with best practices, and effectively adopted by faculty.
  • Collaborate with academic leadership, providing regular reports, insights, and recommendations related to faculty performance, development outcomes, and program effectiveness.
  • Research, evaluate, and implement emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), to enhance faculty development, instructional practices, and operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to the development of a high-functioning, professional faculty development department, grounded in innovation, continuous improvement, and excellence in teaching and learning.
  • Represent Faculty Development in meetings and complete additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree required
  • 5–10 years of experience in online and adult-focused higher education preferred
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning theory and online pedagogy
  • Experience with learning management systems and educational technologies (e.g., Brightspace)
  • Technological proficiency with Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and multimedia tools for video production and training development, including the effective use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools, GPTs, and digital content creation platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead training, mentoring, or faculty development initiatives
  • Ability to analyze and interpret faculty performance data
  • Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to integrate a Christian worldview into professional responsibilities
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
