About the role

  • Identify and assess user needs and translate them into product solutions
  • Work in a team on development tasks defined by your manager
  • Participate in the macroscopic characterization of materials
  • Develop and produce, or oversee the production of, prototypes
  • Define product specifications at all stages of development
  • Support the development of test methods associated with these products
  • Contribute to product design documentation (Design History File)
  • Ensure work is carried out according to the quality management system
  • Write test protocols and development-related test reports
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary project teams including members from R&D, Marketing and Operations in collaboration with other departments

Requirements

  • Degree – Master's degree (MSc) in Mechanical Engineering (equivalent to Bac+5)
  • Mechanical design skills (stress concentration and stress states, testing and measurement methods, uncertainty analysis)
  • Knowledge of macroscopic material properties (hyperelasticity, viscoelasticity, dynamic viscosity, creep, necking, etc.)
  • Knowledge of theoretical mechanics (continuum mechanics, thermodynamics)
  • Strong grasp of statistical concepts and their application (normal distributions, parametric tests, limits and assumptions of inferential statistics)
  • General knowledge of plastic injection and extrusion processes and their modeling
  • Proficiency in CAD software, ideally SolidWorks
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and French
  • Analytical ability and team working skills
