About the role
- Support Admissions and Records Assistant III in managing front desk operations
- Respond to inquiries regarding enrollment and educational records
- Provide guidance on Registrar-related processes via phone, email, and in-person
- Handle and protect confidential student and employee information
- Perform accurate data entry and clerical tasks to support office operations
- Maintain and update student records within the Registrar’s system
- Manage and process transcript requests
- Assist in planning and executing Commencement ceremonies
- Provide support to student employees
- Develop the ability to assess student needs and direct them to relevant departments
- Support additional Registrar’s Office functions and projects as assigned
- Serve as the primary point of contact at the front desk in a high-traffic environment
Requirements
- Graduation from high school or equivalent education
- Two years of clerical and administrative support experience
- Experience in maintaining records and files
- Experience in preparing materials using a personal computer or word processor
- Experience assisting customers in completing forms and applications
- Experience performing secretarial duties in support of professional staff
- OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant I in Nevada State service
- OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience working in a community college or student services environment (preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse and multicultural student population and/or workforce (preferred)
- Proficiency in using student information systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, Banner, or similar platforms) (preferred)
- Bilingual, with the ability to communicate effectively in more than one language (Spanish preferred) (preferred)
