About the role

  • Support Admissions and Records Assistant III in managing front desk operations
  • Respond to inquiries regarding enrollment and educational records
  • Provide guidance on Registrar-related processes via phone, email, and in-person
  • Handle and protect confidential student and employee information
  • Perform accurate data entry and clerical tasks to support office operations
  • Maintain and update student records within the Registrar’s system
  • Manage and process transcript requests
  • Assist in planning and executing Commencement ceremonies
  • Provide support to student employees
  • Develop the ability to assess student needs and direct them to relevant departments
  • Support additional Registrar’s Office functions and projects as assigned
  • Serve as the primary point of contact at the front desk in a high-traffic environment

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent education
  • Two years of clerical and administrative support experience
  • Experience in maintaining records and files
  • Experience in preparing materials using a personal computer or word processor
  • Experience assisting customers in completing forms and applications
  • Experience performing secretarial duties in support of professional staff
  • OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant I in Nevada State service
  • OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience working in a community college or student services environment (preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse and multicultural student population and/or workforce (preferred)
  • Proficiency in using student information systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, Banner, or similar platforms) (preferred)
  • Bilingual, with the ability to communicate effectively in more than one language (Spanish preferred) (preferred)
