Key responsibilities & impact- Design, build, and operate internal platforms including CI/CD pipelines, developer environments, deployment workflows, and shared services
- Create automation and self-service tools for repetitive, error-prone, or slow engineering workflows
- Prototype and productionize AI-assisted engineering capabilities, including LLM-powered code modification, migration automation, and agentic operational workflows
- Own ambiguous platform challenges from discovery through design, implementation, rollout, and adoption
- Contribute to cloud and container foundations, including Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code, networking, and observability
- Improve infrastructure reliability, scalability, and cost-efficiency
- Instrument platforms, define success metrics, and use telemetry and product-team feedback to guide development
- Write design documents and tradeoff analyses
- Partner with product teams to understand pain points and influence engineering practices
- Take ownership through deployment and on-call, improving documentation and system reliability
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years building, shipping, and operating production software
- Experience in platform, infrastructure, developer experience, or similarly leverage-oriented roles
- Strong software generalist with systems knowledge
- Comfortable working across backend services, automation pipelines, infrastructure, and internal tools
- Fluency in at least one modern platform language such as Python or TypeScript
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, AWS preferred
- Experience with containers and Kubernetes
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code
- Experience with modern CI/CD systems
- Experience integrating LLMs or agent-based automation into real engineering workflows
- Ability to scope ambiguous problems, propose plans, and execute
- Product-minded approach to internal engineering customers
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including design documents, runbooks, and postmortems
- Ownership from design through deployment and on-call
- Nice to have: developer portals, service catalogs, or fleet/dependency management systems
- Nice to have: large-scale code migration or modernization efforts
- Nice to have: evaluation and observability practices for AI-powered systems
- Ability to work legally in the United States, validated through e-Verify
