About the role

  • The successful candidate will gain experience and learn about all aspects of conveyancing and share transfer transactions, whilst supporting the Conveyancers and wider property team.
  • PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Assisting the Conveyancers and property team generally with all aspects of conveyancing and share Share Transfer transactions;
  • Assisting with drafting and preparation of property contracts, share sale agreements and other legal documents;
  • Liaising with clients, estate agents and other intermediaries (e.g. banks) as required during all stages of the conveyancing and share transfer processes to obtain/provide information as required;
  • GENERAL DUTIES:
  • Accompanied site visiting, checking measurements, identifying boundary features, identifying issues with rights etc;
  • Assisting with checking company books and records;
  • Drafting correspondence, sale agreements, title reports, Powers of Attorney etc;
  • Develop knowledge of conveyancing and share transfer transactions and provide informed agreements to clients on request, relating to title, sale agreements and suitability of security;
  • Develop an understanding of potential issues in individual cases and the impact on security;
  • Using precedents and drafting notes;
  • Completion procedure: Attending court, arranging stamp duty, security registration;
  • Be aware of, understand and comply with all relevant Collas Crill general procedural requirements, including AML procedures;
  • Effectively and accurately use data and information systems, including Lexis-One, DMS, Digi-map, PRIDE, JFSC, and file management;
  • External interaction: building relationships with clients, borrowers, estate agents, Advocates' firms and other third parties;
  • Internal interaction: working closely with the team, department and wider firm;

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in delivering information
  • A team player, sociable and personable
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Able to manage a large workload and remain calm under pressure
  • The ability to understand and speak French (desirable)
