About the role
- Prepare, review, and coordinate S-1 registration statements for IPO readiness, working closely with legal counsel, underwriting teams and auditors
- Lead all SEC reporting activities including preparation and filing of 10-K, 10-Q, and other required SEC documents
- Serve as the primary technical accounting expert for complex transactions including stock-based compensation (ASC 718), lease accounting (ASC 842), and other specialized accounting areas
- Partner cross-functionally on special projects including M&A accounting, system implementations, and process improvements
- Develop and maintain comprehensive accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls at an enterprise level
- Partner with external auditors and coordinate audit processes, ensuring alignment with company strategy
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess accounting treatment for new initiatives
- Set department strategy and vision for SEC reporting and technical accounting functions
- Drive continuous improvement of our accounting infrastructure and reporting capabilities
Requirements
- Have a background in public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and an active CPA license or equivalent
- Have 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public company experience at a senior level
- Possess deep expertise in US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations
- Have extensive hands-on experience with SEC reporting tools (Workiva, DFIN ActiveDisclosure, or similar)
- Have proven experience in technical accounting research and complex transaction analysis
- Have experience building accounting processes in a fast-paced technology environment, preferably at an AI company
- Have strong executive presence and leadership skills
- Take a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving
- Have IPO readiness experience
