About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the complete production cycle for local programming, ensuring alignment with company KPIs and regulatory standards
- Serve as a key brand ambassador, managing community relationships
- Train and lead a diverse crew of volunteers and community partners to produce high-quality, local content
- Lead all phases of production including Pre-Production, Production, and Post-Production
- Recruit, orient, and coach volunteer crews, co-op students, and interns
- Serve as the primary contact for community stakeholders and partners
- Manage the local "YourTV" website and social media presence
- Operate as a “competent person” regarding health and safety legislation
- Ensure consistent application of company branding and logos
Requirements
What you’ll need- College Diploma or Degree in television production or a related discipline
- Minimum 3 years in audio/video production; community television experience preferred
- Advanced skills in camera technique, studio lighting, audio, graphics, and editing
- Strong video storytelling skills with reporting and anchoring experience
- Strong coaching and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage diverse groups of volunteers and students
- Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task, meet conflicting deadlines, and resolve problems independently
- Valid Ontario Class G driver’s licence
- Physical ability to lift 20 kg and work at heights up to 5 metres.
