About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage a team of mentors, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, and maintaining coaching quality
  • Run weekly syncs, 1:1s, and escalation processes
  • Ensure pull requests, milestone reviews, and host-manager engagement happen on schedule
  • Own delivery outcomes for approximately 200 fellows at full scale
  • Set instructional agendas and determine whether to teach sessions directly or delegate to mentors
  • Maintain the mentorship quality framework and address performance gaps
  • Own milestone-review roll-ups and intervene when fellow work is at risk
  • Replace manual tracking with scalable delivery systems
  • Partner with Claude Corps strategic partners and provide structured field feedback
  • Own how the team uses the Commons curriculum platform
  • Convert field observations into curriculum change requests and close the feedback loop

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience managing people and improving team performance, ideally technical or coaching staff
  • 3–5 years of software engineering, software engineering management, product management, or engineering-adjacent management experience
  • Ability to judge technical coaching quality and evaluate fellows’ shipped work
  • Ability to teach and facilitate live sessions
  • Experience owning a delivery or operations outcome at scale
  • Experience replacing manual processes with scalable systems
  • Experience shipping work using AI-assisted development tools and explaining the workflow impact
  • Strong written communication skills for feedback, roll-ups, escalations, and change requests
  • Comfort with remote synchronous obligations across U.S. time zones
  • Availability for approximately two evenings per month for cohort sessions and milestone reviews
  • Preferred: experience managing coaches, instructors, or managers in a cohort-based program
  • Preferred: experience scaling delivery teams through rapid headcount growth
  • Preferred: familiarity with platform- or LMS-delivered learning models and delivery data
