Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead a fullstack engineering team, driving successful delivery of product and technical initiatives while balancing speed, quality, and long-term maintainability
  • Recruit, develop, and mentor engineers, fostering a high-performing team and supporting their career growth
  • Take ownership of one or more key systems at Coda, driving their technical direction and shaping an ambitious roadmap with your team
  • Guide the team with prioritization, resolving complex technical challenges, and adopting best practices
  • Oversee project timelines and deliverables. Ensure resources are allocated efficiently and projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards
  • Collaborate with Product and cross-functional teams to align on goals, define priorities, drive execution from OKRs to day-to-day delivery, and communicate progress, risks, and technical direction
  • Oversee the utilization of modern platforms and technologies, ensuring they are leveraged effectively to maximize the value the engineering teams deliver.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 4+ years in a technical leadership role (Tech Lead, Engineering Manager, or similar)
  • Strong hands-on experience designing, building, and operating large-scale production systems, with the ability to write and review high-quality code
  • Solid understanding of software architecture, distributed systems, data technologies (RDBMS, NoSQL, message queues), and cloud platforms such as AWS
  • Data driven mindset with the ability to analyze information, make informed decisions, and continuously improve team productivity in an agile environment
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and people leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively across both technical and non-technical teams
  • Curious and adaptable, with a willingness to learn new technologies. Experience with security, cryptography, or machine learning is a plus.
