About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver high-quality design outputs that meet technical requirements
- Translate technical briefs into practical design solutions
- Plan and prioritise design tasks to support delivery of agreed milestones
- Produce design outputs that balance usability, aesthetics, manufacturability, and commercial considerations
- Ensure design work meets defined quality and performance expectations
- Develop artefacts that clearly convey design ideas
- Prepare accurate technical drawings and specifications for manufacturing
- Present design concepts and prototypes for feedback
- Incorporate user insights into design iterations
- Apply DFM and DFX principles during design development
- Build and test prototypes to validate product functionality
- Assess design feasibility considering materials and production methods
- Refine designs for smooth transition to production
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelors degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- 3+ years experience in industrial design or product development roles
- Experience in product design creation, metalwork, basic electrical knowledge, DFM, technical drawing, BOM & costing
- Experience delivering manufacturing ready outputs, including CAD, drawings, and documentation
- 2D visualisation and graphic communication tools such as Adobe suite/ Figma/ Canva etc
