About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform quality control checks on DMCS functions including Loan Intake, Mail Intake, National Payment Center, Back Office and the Correspondence Team
  • Verify template usage and populated data
  • Perform administrative functions supporting appeal processing
  • Maintain and update databases, scorecards, reports, and documents with a high degree of accuracy
  • Identify and immediately escalate correspondence when warranted
  • Assist with decision notifications and borrower correspondence
  • Maintain current knowledge of federal regulations, policies, and processing procedures related to student financial aid
  • Exercise appropriate judgment with confidential information
  • Perform other functions requested by management within the scope of the role or provide occasional lower-level support as business needs require
  • Type or generate letters and other documents
  • Participate in calibration meetings

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • College courses or degree from an accredited college or university preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience required
  • Accurate data entry skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Ability to work both as a team member and independently
  • Ability to write using proper grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure and pass a written test
  • Required to undergo program update training as student financial assistance programs change, as well as required employee training
  • Must be current on federal student loans and not delinquent or in default on federal student loans
  • Must pass a criminal background check
  • Federal security clearance through MAXIMUS Federal required
  • Must reside in the U.S.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must reside within 50 miles of a Coast Professional, Inc. office
  • High-speed internet connection with minimum 25 Mbps download and 3 Mbps upload speeds
  • Ability to connect to the home network with an ethernet cable
  • Mobile device for DUO multi-factor login: iPhone 7 with iOS 11.1 or higher, or Android device with Android 9.2 or greater
  • Quiet, dedicated workspace free of distractions and interruptions
  • Ability to pick up provided computer equipment within 48 hours' notice
  • Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods
  • Must meet specified vision, hearing, hand/finger, and occasional standing, walking, reaching, and sitting requirements
