About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Serves as a swim instructor for outdoor pool work
Instruct students of all ages in individual or small group swim lessons
Build positive relationships with students and assess individual needs
Create daily swim lesson plans for a minimum 8 lesson period
Observes swimmers and ensures all participants are always accounted for
Ensures all water safety rules are observed by swimmers
Attend aquatics and/or safety training as directed
Assists in maintaining pool and keeping all areas clean
Participates as part of the Aquatic Facility Safety Team
Provides assistance during emergency situations including evacuating the pool, calling 9-1-1, providing CPR, or providing first aid

Requirements

What you’ll need

Must possess, or obtain within 90 days of hire, and maintain CPR for the Professional Rescuer or equivalent (i.e. Star or Ellis)
First Aid certification
CPR certification
Must be able to communicate in English (both verbally and in writing)
Persons must be at least 16 years of age
Work experience related to the duties described above (preferred)
