About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serves as a swim instructor for outdoor pool work
  • Instruct students of all ages in individual or small group swim lessons
  • Build positive relationships with students and assess individual needs
  • Create daily swim lesson plans for a minimum 8 lesson period
  • Observes swimmers and ensures all participants are always accounted for
  • Ensures all water safety rules are observed by swimmers
  • Attend aquatics and/or safety training as directed
  • Assists in maintaining pool and keeping all areas clean
  • Participates as part of the Aquatic Facility Safety Team
  • Provides assistance during emergency situations including evacuating the pool, calling 9-1-1, providing CPR, or providing first aid

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must possess, or obtain within 90 days of hire, and maintain CPR for the Professional Rescuer or equivalent (i.e. Star or Ellis)
  • First Aid certification
  • CPR certification
  • Must be able to communicate in English (both verbally and in writing)
  • Persons must be at least 16 years of age
  • Work experience related to the duties described above (preferred)
