About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform a variety of tasks to support a bar or beer serving activity
  • Set up bars carrying supplies and equipment
  • Prepare simple garnishes, slice and peel fruit
  • Fill ice bins with ice
  • Ensure bar is in a presentable and sanitary condition
  • Serve bottle beer, soft drinks, and draw beer from kegs
  • Receive payments and operate a cash register
  • Unload and stack supplies for storage
  • Maintain a neat and clean work area
  • Clean equipment, glasses and utensils
  • Adhere to safety regulations and standards

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be able to follow simple oral instructions
  • Must be able to use knives and automatic slicers to prepare garnishes
  • Must be able to stoop, stand, and walk for long periods of time
  • Must be physically able to frequently lift objects weighing 5 to 10 pounds
  • Must be able to pull and push objects weighing 10 to 20 pounds
  • Must occasionally lift up to and over 40 pounds
  • Must meet the appropriate minimum age requirement for working with and/or serving alcoholic beverages
  • Six months’ previous bar assistant experience preferred
