Bar Assistant

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform a variety of tasks to support a bar or beer serving activity
- Set up bars carrying supplies and equipment
- Prepare simple garnishes, slice and peel fruit
- Fill ice bins with ice
- Ensure bar is in a presentable and sanitary condition
- Serve bottle beer, soft drinks, and draw beer from kegs
- Receive payments and operate a cash register
- Unload and stack supplies for storage
- Maintain a neat and clean work area
- Clean equipment, glasses and utensils
- Adhere to safety regulations and standards
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be able to follow simple oral instructions
- Must be able to use knives and automatic slicers to prepare garnishes
- Must be able to stoop, stand, and walk for long periods of time
- Must be physically able to frequently lift objects weighing 5 to 10 pounds
- Must be able to pull and push objects weighing 10 to 20 pounds
- Must occasionally lift up to and over 40 pounds
- Must meet the appropriate minimum age requirement for working with and/or serving alcoholic beverages
- Six months’ previous bar assistant experience preferred
