About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Perform a variety of tasks to support a bar or beer serving activity
Set up bars carrying supplies and equipment
Prepare simple garnishes, slice and peel fruit
Fill ice bins with ice
Ensure bar is in a presentable and sanitary condition
Serve bottle beer, soft drinks, and draw beer from kegs
Receive payments and operate a cash register
Unload and stack supplies for storage
Maintain a neat and clean work area
Clean equipment, glasses and utensils
Adhere to safety regulations and standards

Requirements

What you’ll need

Must be able to follow simple oral instructions
Must be able to use knives and automatic slicers to prepare garnishes
Must be able to stoop, stand, and walk for long periods of time
Must be physically able to frequently lift objects weighing 5 to 10 pounds
Must be able to pull and push objects weighing 10 to 20 pounds
Must occasionally lift up to and over 40 pounds
Must meet the appropriate minimum age requirement for working with and/or serving alcoholic beverages
Six months’ previous bar assistant experience preferred
