About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Performs tasks with several steps or sequences of tasks
Sets up food service counters, steam tables, and dining room tables
Serves food cafeteria-style and family-style
Makes coffee and a variety of fruit and vegetable salads
Packs box lunches and cleans kitchen equipment
Washes dishes and operates mechanical dishwasher
Maintains water and detergent levels in dishwasher
Clears and cleans dining tables and sweeps, mops, and waxes floors
Disposes of food wastes and assists in unloading supply trucks
Adheres to safety regulations and procedures

Requirements

What you’ll need

Previous work experience in a food service facility
Experience with common sanitation standards in handling and serving food
Ability to read and understand written material and follow instructions
Ability to perform simple arithmetic
Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and/or complete food handler's training
Physically able to frequently lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds
Able to continuously stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull and bend for long periods of time
One year or more of food service experience (preferred)
