About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Performs tasks with several steps or sequences of tasks
- Sets up food service counters, steam tables, and dining room tables
- Serves food cafeteria-style and family-style
- Makes coffee and a variety of fruit and vegetable salads
- Packs box lunches and cleans kitchen equipment
- Washes dishes and operates mechanical dishwasher
- Maintains water and detergent levels in dishwasher
- Clears and cleans dining tables and sweeps, mops, and waxes floors
- Disposes of food wastes and assists in unloading supply trucks
- Adheres to safety regulations and procedures
Requirements
What you’ll need- Previous work experience in a food service facility
- Experience with common sanitation standards in handling and serving food
- Ability to read and understand written material and follow instructions
- Ability to perform simple arithmetic
- Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and/or complete food handler's training
- Physically able to frequently lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds
- Able to continuously stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull and bend for long periods of time
- One year or more of food service experience (preferred)
