About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design and drive the evolution of the data platform, from ingestion to consumption, prioritizing reliability before scale;
Gradually modernize legacy integration processes with transition plans that preserve ongoing operations;
Build pipelines with strong data quality, monitoring, alerts and end-to-end traceability;
Structure data as a product, with standardized contracts and organization by business domain;
Implement data governance, catalog and observability practices;
Incorporate cost discipline (FinOps) into platform operations;
Prepare the data foundation for AI use cases, ensuring that only governed data feeds those solutions;
Document architectural decisions and raise the team's technical maturity.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Solid experience in data engineering in production environments, including pipeline modernization (Python, Spark, AWS Glue or equivalents);
Knowledge of CDC and incremental ingestion from relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL);
Experience with analytical platforms and lakehouse architectures;
Familiarity with streaming and messaging (Kafka or equivalent) and event-driven architectures;
Experience with data quality, observability and data governance;
Understanding of data requirements for generative AI and sensitivity to LGPD (Brazilian data protection law) and the regulated insurance context;
Strong technical communication skills and the ability to document and defend architectural trade-offs.
