About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Plays a key role in the development, support, and rollout of the Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
  • Responsible for optimizing workflow processes by configuring and customizing Epic applications.
  • Collaborates with clinical and operational teams to support implementation and ongoing use of Epic.
  • Participates in all phases of the system development life cycle.
  • Develops, configures, and modifies moderately complex information systems to support clinical and operational needs.
  • Creates and maintains documentation of business requirements, workflows, and system configurations.
  • Designs, codes/configures, tests, and maintains application programs.
  • Coordinates all testing phases of Epic applications during implementations, upgrades, and optimizations.
  • Supports existing application functionality and expands support to additional areas as needed.
  • Develops strong working relationships with end users, business partners, and Epic project teams.
  • Provides hands-on training and support to end users.
  • Serves as a key onsite Epic resource during system implementations and ongoing support activities.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience is required.
  • 3-5 years of relevant IIS, clinical experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Epic Certification: Certification in one or more Epic modules (e.g., EpicCare Ambulatory, Willow, Orders) is highly desirable.
  • For IIS candidates: Experience in systems integration, data management, healthcare IT, and workflow automation.
  • Knowledge of system architecture, database design, and project management in a healthcare setting is essential.
  • Experience should include working with electronic health record (EHR) systems, system optimization, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring seamless interoperability across platforms.
  • For Clinical candidates: Hands-on clinical experience with a deep understanding of clinical workflows and patient care processes.
  • Experience in utilizing EHR systems within a clinical setting and an understanding of documentation, compliance, and patient safety protocols.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, the ability to translate user needs into system functionality.
  • Operational Experience in Healthcare Settings: Proven experience in healthcare operations.
  • Collaborative and Independent Work Abilities: Able to lead discussions, build consensus, and foster teamwork.
  • Comprehensive Understanding of Healthcare Business Processes and Technology.
