About the role
- Manage and coordinate marketing of IVP books; promote, advertise, and market IVP titles
- Develop targeted paid digital and social media advertising across Google Ads, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn for IVP's Trade and Academic imprints
- Track, analyze, and execute paid digital and social media advertising to evaluate plan effectiveness
- Craft data-driven, integrated marketing plans for 30-35 titles per year across Trade and Academic imprints
- Develop consumer insights to drive engagement and advertising messages across channels during pre-order and launch campaigns
- Monitor sales data and adjust plans to ensure frontlist titles/backlist performance
- Lead cross-functional strategy discussions with editors, sales, publicity, agents, authors, digital sales, lead generation, and design
- Build relationships with authors and activate networks to raise title awareness and drive sales
- Secure partnerships with outside advertising vendors to maintain a opportunities database and craft targeted plans
- Manage budgets and analyze analytics for efficiency and effectiveness
- Write creative briefs, marketing copy, and headlines for each title
- Identify event marketing opportunities, pitch authors as speakers, and plan for conferences
- Expand marketing opportunities to support authors of color and diverse communities
- Maintain professional growth by tracking industry trends and attending training/events
Requirements
- Affirmation of InterVarsity’s Statement of Faith
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Spanish fluency preferred but not required
- Credentialed with at least 2 years of experience executing and managing paid social media advertising campaigns
- Four to six years of digital marketing manager or agency experience, depending upon level
- Ability to achieve and maintain a high level of knowledge regarding InterVarsity Press products, services, policies, programs, and procedures
- Prudence with confidential information
- Proven ability to multi-task and manage the needs of a variety of stakeholders at once
- Exceptional project management skills
- Comprehensive understanding of digital marketing best practices
- Demonstrated ability and commitment to work in a diverse team environment
- Flexibility to travel 10-15% for conferences and sales appointments as needed including the annual biblical/religious studies academic conferences in late November, prior to Thanksgiving
- Flexibility to attend Urbana Student Missions Conference every six years, Dec. 26-Jan.1, and National Staff Conference every three years (the year after Urbana), approximately Jan. 3-8
