About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Establish relationships with business partners and functional subject matter experts and provide actuarial guidance
- Build relationships with peers, business partners and leaders to influence segment strategy using actionable insights and analytics
- Provide analyses and insights to assist in determining pricing strategy
- Create and modify tools and analytics as needed
- Monitor profitability, reserving and claim trends and share recommendations with leaders and underwriting, claims and pricing partners
- Provide guidance to less experienced team members and manage projects
- Produce technical actuarial analyses and reports
- Communicate findings to analytical staff and management
- Stay current with actuarial expertise, industry trends and developments
- Drive and continually improve processes while maintaining clear documentation of methods
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent
- Typically a minimum of seven years of related work experience
- ACAS designation and working towards FCAS
- May include candidates who have attained their FCAS
- Strong knowledge of core insurance company functions and actuarial and statistical concepts
- Advanced actuarial technical expertise and product-specific knowledge
- Ability to communicate and influence using analyses at various levels, including senior leadership
- Experience building successful business partnerships
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Solid project management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and lead teams
- Ability to make critical business decisions within scope of authority
- Ability to manage ambiguous and challenging problems and lead through change
