About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the strategic development, enhancement, governance, and maintenance of the Global Healthcare product portfolio
- Establish and execute a multi-year product strategy and product-development roadmap
- Serve as principal product leader for all Global Healthcare lines of business
- Oversee development, revision, and implementation of policy forms, endorsements, and manuscript wording
- Design and oversee a structured product governance framework, including documentation, inventories, version control, decision logs, implementation procedures, and audit-ready records
- Partner with Global Healthcare Underwriting leadership to translate priorities, risk appetite, customer needs, and market developments into product solutions
- Provide senior product expertise to underwriting teams on coverage interpretation, endorsements, form intent, manuscript language, and complex account issues
- Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Regulatory Affairs, Product Architecture, Operations, Technology, Claims, Risk Control, Underwriting, and Actuarial throughout the product lifecycle
- Monitor Healthcare, legal, regulatory, technological, and insurance-market trends requiring product modification or governance review
- Lead product assessments and response strategies for emerging healthcare exposures
- Participate in the Global Healthcare Product Board and related subcommittees
- Support business planning, portfolio reviews, profitability studies, pricing strategies, growth plans, and underwriting action plans
- Improve product consistency, governance, speed to market, and operational, compliance, and continuity risk controls
- Develop and deliver product training, underwriting guidance, communication materials, and execution tools
- Evaluate competitor products, policy language, market innovations, industry best practices, and distribution trends
- Lead, manage, coach, and develop product-development professionals
- Communicate product priorities, strategy, emerging risks, governance actions, and implementation plans to senior leaders and stakeholders
- Perform additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Extensive technical knowledge of Medical Professional Liability, General Liability, Excess Liability, Umbrella Liability, and related insurance products
- Deep understanding of insurance policy construction, endorsements, manuscript drafting, coverage intent and interpretation, underwriting guidelines, product architecture, regulatory compliance, and product governance
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute product strategies supporting underwriting discipline, profitable growth, operational performance, and competitive positioning
- Strong knowledge of healthcare industry dynamics, litigation trends, regulatory developments, emerging liability exposures, insurance markets, and distribution strategies
- Proven experience leading complex product-development initiatives from concept through implementation
- Proficient analytical, strategic-thinking, and problem-solving capabilities
- Strong executive presence with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
- Ability to influence, negotiate, and build consensus in a highly matrixed global environment
- Advanced leadership capabilities, sound judgment, integrity, accountability, collaboration, adaptability, and commitment to developing high-performing teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, underwriting platforms, workflow-management tools, product-governance systems, and other business technology resources
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Risk Management, Insurance, Finance, Law, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required
- Minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience in insurance, underwriting, product development, product management, legal, compliance, claims, or a related discipline
- Demonstrated experience leading product-development initiatives, policy form drafting, endorsement design, product governance programs, regulatory implementations, underwriting strategy initiatives, or product lifecycle management
- Healthcare insurance industry experience highly preferred, including knowledge of Medical Professional Liability and related healthcare casualty products
- Professional insurance designations such as CPCU, RPLU, ARM, ASLI, or comparable credentials preferred
