About the role
- Assist in developing actuarial pricing and rating plans for CNA's Medical Professional Liability (Medical Malpractice) across multiple Healthcare products
- Collaborate with business partners and Actuarial leaders and serve as advisor to actuarial peers
- Provide actuarial analyses to influence pricing decisions and strategies
- Support determining pricing strategy for assigned area and create/modify tools/analytics as needed
- Proactively monitor profitability/reserving and claim trends for Specialty (Medical Malpractice) and share results
- Produce standard and special reports and perform additional duties as assigned
- Hybrid work schedule at CNA actuarial hub office locations
Requirements
- Solid knowledge of core functions of an insurance company, general insurance, actuarial and statistical concepts
- Demonstrated technical expertise and product specific knowledge
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external business partners
- Ability to work independently and lead multiple moderately complex projects
- Ability to make critical business decisions effectively within scope of authority
- Ability to comprehend business data and articulate analyses of actuarial data within reports
- Provides support to less experienced team members and help to manage projects
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent
- Typically a minimum of four years of related work experience
- Typically at least three to five successfully completed CAS exams; may include Associateship or Fellowship
