About the role
- Serve as customer proxy and final authority on priority, business value, and functionality for Agile development team
- Own, define and prioritize team backlog; establish story acceptance criteria and drive content via prioritized user stories
- Support one to two Agile Scrum teams on initiatives of medium to large complexity
- Attend Scrum ceremonies and ensure teams adhere to Scrum values
- Facilitate Product Backlog Refinement and help split backlog items into incremental value
- Build customer and user insights into planning and execution; obtain customer validation and accept stories
- Proactively review metrics and stakeholder feedback for continuous improvement
- Collaborate with Product Managers and other Product Owners; may work on Scaled Agile Release Train
- Hybrid role: work from Chicago office or remotely with travel to/from Chicago as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Product Owner, Business Analyst or equivalent experience implementing technology enhancements to policy administration or underwriting systems
- Experience with Agile methodology and ceremonies preferred
- Applicable certifications preferred (e.g., SAFe PO/PM, CSPO, PSPO)
- Commercial insurance domain knowledge preferred
- High learning agility and early adopter mindset
- Ability to build relationships with team and stakeholders
- Collaboration, conflict resolution and communication skills
- Ability to enact change quickly and provide constructive feedback
- Effective leadership skills and ability to work with Product Management, business stakeholders and technical/product teams
