About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Oversee public infrastructure projects—including vertical construction, transit centers, bus facilities, ADA compliance, and parks—from design to completion.
Conduct pre-bid meetings, issue notices to proceed, and manage consultants, contractors, and subcontractors.
Monitor project budgets, review invoices, and process change orders.
Ensure projects meet design specifications, safety standards, and building codes.
Prepare technical, management, and status reports for county officials.
Interface with various departments, agencies, and stakeholders.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in architecture, civil engineering, construction management, or a closely related field.
Four (4) years of professional engineering and/or construction management experience.
Valid Florida driver’s license required; LEED accreditation is often preferred.
Proficiency in project management software, scheduling programs, and building information modeling (BIM).
