About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Responsible for designing and executing sourcing strategies for the IT category.
- Lead and execute sourcing projects including strategy development, RFI / RFP process, supplier negotiation, award recommendations, business case presentations, risk management and contract execution.
- Bring a deep understanding of the market forces, external factors, products, suppliers and the supply chain to develop a sourcing plan which will deliver significant savings and other value.
- Continually review current and future contractual performance internally and externally with suppliers through data reporting and analysis to ensure competitive advantage is maximised and a robust strategy is executed.
- Manage supplier relationships, including supplier development and performance management.
- Build strong working relationships with senior stakeholders to design and implement sourcing strategies for the IT category.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience in IT Procurement, Contracting, and Project Management
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, in either Business, Finance, Economics, Procurement, Supply Chain or related discipline.
- Professional procurement qualification (e.g. CIPS or equivalent) preferred.
- Technical Procurement skills in strategic sourcing, category management, supplier relationship management, subject matter expertise in the IT spend category, contract execution and management, and supplier dispute resolution.
- Demonstrable experience sourcing and negotiating across a broad range of IT spend categories is essential, including enterprise software and SaaS, cloud services, cyber security, infrastructure, telecommunications and networking, end-user hardware and managed services.
- Proven experience in designing and executing sourcing strategies that consistently deliver measurable bottom-line cost savings.
- Proven track record in influencing sourcing decisions within the IT Category.
- Expert negotiator, solid knowledge of contract language and legislative requirements.
- Previous experience of working through a digital transformation would be an advantage.
- Results-orientated, excellent analytical, process and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to prioritise and make sound decisions based on logic.
- Strong change management skills.
- Strong digital skills, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft suite (PowerPoint, Excel), and BI tools.
