About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Integrate enterprise infrastructure across on-premises, private cloud, hybrid cloud, and public cloud environments.
- Engineer, implement, configure, and maintain enterprise hosting platforms supporting mission-critical applications.
- Support Microsoft Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Oracle Linux, Solaris, VMware vSphere, Cisco UCS, Cisco HyperFlex, and related enterprise technologies.
- Design and implement infrastructure solutions supporting application hosting, virtualization, storage, backup, and cloud services.
- Coordinate infrastructure deployments, upgrades, migrations, and technology refresh initiatives.
- Integrate applications with enterprise hosting platforms while ensuring performance, scalability, availability, and security.
- Develop and implement automation, orchestration, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions to improve operational efficiency.
- Support cloud migration initiatives utilizing AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), NIH STRIDES, and hybrid cloud environments.
- Install, configure, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise virtualization and cloud infrastructure.
- Support enterprise storage, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
- Integrate enterprise monitoring, logging, and operational management tools.
- Perform root cause analysis and resolve complex infrastructure and platform issues.
- Develop architecture diagrams, implementation plans, engineering documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and operational runbooks.
- Support configuration management, change management, release management, and patch management activities.
- Coordinate with cybersecurity teams to implement RMF, NIST, FISMA, vulnerability remediation, and security compliance requirements.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements that enhance platform performance, reliability, security, and scalability.
- Participate in scheduled maintenance windows and provide after-hours operational support as required.
- Collaborate with Government personnel, vendors, and technical teams to ensure successful delivery of enterprise hosting services.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in systems integration, enterprise infrastructure, cloud engineering, virtualization, hosting platforms, or systems engineering.
- Experience supporting enterprise Windows and Linux server environments.
- Experience integrating enterprise virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere.
- Experience supporting cloud technologies including AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with enterprise application hosting and infrastructure integration.
- Experience supporting server migrations, infrastructure upgrades, and technology refresh projects.
- Experience implementing automation using scripting or Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools.
- Experience with enterprise monitoring, logging, backup, and recovery technologies.
- Experience troubleshooting complex multi-tier infrastructure environments.
- Working knowledge of ITIL service management processes.
- Experience supporting highly available, mission-critical enterprise environments.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary technical team.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a NIH Public Trust
