About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and coach the New Zealand Trade team to optimise capacity, vessel utilisation, cargo mix and profitability
  • Manage allocations, forecasting, vessel profiles and trade execution in collaboration with Regional and Head Offices
  • Monitor market trends and identify opportunities to drive sustainable business growth
  • Proactively manage trade constraints, routing issues and performance through timely escalation and solutions
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, industry associations and external partners
  • Manage capacity, vessel utilisation, profitability and trade performance for the New Zealand trade
  • Identify opportunities for sustainable market growth

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong experience in shipping, trade management or commercial operations
  • Excellent understanding of capacity planning, vessel utilisation, allocations and market dynamics
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify growth and profitability opportunities
  • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong analytical, forecasting, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Full working rights in New Zealand
  • Applicants must be locally based; overseas candidates expecting remote work will not be considered
