About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide legal advice on maritime related matters across the APAC region
Draft, review, and negotiate a range of maritime-related agreements covering, customers, vendors, partners
Advise on contentious matters including idle full management, detention and demurrage recovery and non-insured disputes
Support day to date operations of the maritime business
Assist on maritime legal work-streams in strategic projects, i.e. business development projects that include cargo transport related aspects
Work with and manage external legal counsels
Undertake any other tasks and responsibilities as may be assigned by the manager from time to time.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Qualified as a solicitor and/or barrister in Singapore preferred.
Minimum 5-10 years Post-Qualification Experience (PQE) in a law firm and/or in-house setting.
Strong commercial background with experience in maritime law.
Proven expertise in drafting and negotiating contracts in areas mentioned above.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse personalities.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and deadline-driven environment.
Motivated, high-energy with a strong work ethic and proven problem-solving skills.
