About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own and manage a portfolio of customer accounts
Develop and execute strategic collection plans to drive timely payment
Conduct proactive and targeted collection campaigns through professional communication (phone and email)
Analyze account status, payment trends, and dispute history
Lead resolution of short payments and discrepancies
Drive closure of reviewed and rejected disputes by following up with customers
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to validate claims
Act as a central liaison across departments to remove barriers to payment
Prepare, analyze, and present account and portfolio-level reporting to Senior Management
Identify process improvement opportunities

Requirements

What you’ll need

High School Diploma or GED required
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
3-5 years of corporate collections experience
Knowledge of collections processes and procedures
Exceptional skills in MS Excel: including pivot tables and v-lookups
Exceptional interpersonal & communication skills (written & verbal)
Strong organizational, time management, priority setting & analytical problem-solving abilities
Ability to coordinate information from various sources
Familiarity with functions of different internal departments such as Finance, Imports, Exports, Rates & Detention & Demurrage
Conflict resolution skills
Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
