About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Providing legal advice and support to shipping businesses
Supporting a wide range of legal matters including commercial contracts and civil litigation management
Structuring, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial transactions
Responding to legal inquiries and conducting research, analysis, and drafting legal memoranda
Assisting with preparation and drafting of corporate legal documents
Providing civil litigation support including case management and communications with outside counsel
Completing miscellaneous related duties and projects as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's Degree
Law Degree Required
3-5 years of general experience
Strong generalist legal foundation
Experience in drafting and negotiating contracts, commercial litigation, corporate governance or transactional work
Familiarity with statutes and regulations related to the transportation industry
Proactive self-starter with the ability to work independently
Strong aptitude for managing and prioritizing multiple projects
Analytical, problem solving, decision making skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Outstanding interpersonal skills
Strong skills in using MS Office, including MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel
