About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Providing legal advice and support to shipping businesses
- Supporting a wide range of legal matters including commercial contracts and civil litigation management
- Structuring, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial transactions
- Responding to legal inquiries and conducting research, analysis, and drafting legal memoranda
- Assisting with preparation and drafting of corporate legal documents
- Providing civil litigation support including case management and communications with outside counsel
- Completing miscellaneous related duties and projects as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree
- Law Degree Required
- 3-5 years of general experience
- Strong generalist legal foundation
- Experience in drafting and negotiating contracts, commercial litigation, corporate governance or transactional work
- Familiarity with statutes and regulations related to the transportation industry
- Proactive self-starter with the ability to work independently
- Strong aptitude for managing and prioritizing multiple projects
- Analytical, problem solving, decision making skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Outstanding interpersonal skills
- Strong skills in using MS Office, including MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel
