About the role
- To provide legal advice on maritime and/or non-maritime related matters across the APAC region, with specialized expertise in finance or corporate matters would be preferred.
- Manage all legal aspects of ship financing or corporate financing transactions, including loan agreements, security documentation, and sale-leaseback arrangements.
- Provide legal advice on vessel acquisitions, disposals, and fleet renewal projects.
- Negotiate and draft complex financing documents with banks and financial institutions.
- Draft, review and negotiate maritime-related procurement agreements (including contracts for terminal services, depot services, multimodal services, towage services and other maritime related procurement agreements).
- Provide legal advice within the organization and in all APAC countries on matters affecting the Group’s business and operations.
- In charge of providing legal advice and support on cross-border projects such as business development and M&A in APAC.
- Undertake any other tasks and responsibilities as may be assigned by the manager from time to time.
Requirements
- Qualified as a solicitor and/or barrister in Singapore preferred.
- Minimum 10 years Post-Qualification Experience (PQE) in a law firm and/or in-house setting.
- Strong commercial background with experience in maritime law and finance and corporate transactions.
- Proven expertise in drafting and negotiating contracts in areas mentioned above.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse personalities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and deadline-driven environment.
- Motivated, high-energy with a strong work ethic and proven problem-solving skills.
