About the role
- Oversee Transport Compliance Audits ensuring all accreditation standards are achieved
- Ensure driver training is up to date, and all activities are undertaken in accordance with current legislation, Company Policies, and Standard Operating Procedures
- Maintain vehicle compliance for a fleet of vehicles and drivers spread across the UK, including other depots
- Initiate, prepare for, and lead internal and external compliance audits, providing detailed reports on logistics operations and identifying areas for improvement
- Report on compliance issues internally and externally
- Promote a LEAN culture throughout the site, supporting Kaizen targets and training colleagues in LEAN principles to drive efficiency and continuous improvement
- Support Health, Safety, and Environmental responsibilities, ensuring all Health & Safety meetings and Safe Working Instructions are adhered to
- Drive process improvements including fuel efficiency and route optimisation, ensuring all operations are effective and efficient
Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within the transport or logistics sector
- Solid understanding of driver management and vehicle compliance
- Ability to navigate IT systems confidently
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to think critically and solve problems efficiently
- Proactive and detail-oriented
- Capable of working both independently and as part of a team
