About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Take depositions, attend hearings, and participate in mediations as required.
- Draft and submit pleadings, motions, and briefs.
- Prepare correspondence to colleagues and clients.
- Conduct legal research using Westlaw/Lexis/Nexis.
- Draft discovery requests and discovery responses.
- Review and analyze documents and materials for production.
- Investigate claims and prepare case handling strategies.
- Report to insurance carrier clients and insureds.
- Prepare cases for trial or mediation and participate in trial or mediation.
- Support Utah-related liability and insurance matters involving insurance coverage and bad faith, catastrophic injury and wrongful death, UIM defense, premises liability, trucking/transportation claims, and employment and property disputes.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be admitted to practice in Montana, Utah, or Idaho.
- Civil litigation experience.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and oral communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to simultaneously handle sensitive and time-sensitive matters.
- Effective problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
