About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the design, implementation and ongoing development of compensation programmes across the United States and Canada
  • Advise HR and business leaders on salary structures, job architecture, market positioning, pay decisions and incentive design
  • Lead the annual compensation review process, including planning, modelling, governance, stakeholder engagement, budget management, recommendations and executive reporting
  • Oversee market benchmarking and compensation analysis
  • Maintain compensation frameworks, salary structures and job architecture
  • Develop reward analytics and insights for decision making, workforce planning and reward strategy
  • Ensure compliance with compensation legislation and reporting requirements
  • Provide strategic oversight and governance of North American benefits and retirement programmes
  • Partner with brokers, vendors, Finance and HR stakeholders on programme effectiveness, competitiveness and cost efficiency
  • Oversee annual benefits review and renewal activities
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting benefits and retirement plans
  • Support benefits communication strategies
  • Partner with the Global Head of Reward and global reward team on strategic compensation projects
  • Support global reward frameworks, policies and governance processes
  • Lead or contribute to compensation benchmarking, job architecture, pay transparency, market positioning and reward transformation initiatives
  • Improve reward processes, data quality, reporting capabilities and reward effectiveness
  • Support change management for reward programmes
  • Build relationships with HR, Finance and business stakeholders globally
  • Provide reward reporting, analysis and insights to senior leaders
  • Ensure governance, controls and audit readiness across reward processes
  • Manage reward-related risks and maintain documentation, policies and procedures

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Significant experience in compensation and reward management, including substantial experience in a senior reward role within a complex, matrixed organisation
  • Deep expertise in compensation strategy, market benchmarking, salary structures, job architecture and annual compensation review processes
  • Strong knowledge of United States and Canadian compensation practices, legislation and reward market trends
  • Experience designing and modelling compensation programmes, incentive plans and reward scenarios
  • Exposure to benefits and retirement programme governance, including external providers, consultants and brokers
  • Experience leading strategic reward projects across multiple geographies and business functions
  • Strong analytical capability and advanced experience using reward data for executive decision making
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills with senior HR, Finance and business leaders
  • Strong project management and change management experience delivering complex initiatives from design through implementation
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, including modelling, reporting and executive-level presentations
  • Experience in a professional services, legal or consultancy environment would be advantageous
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
