Legal Director – Corporate Insurance
Clyde & CoLegal Director in the Corporate Insurance team at Clyde & Co advising on complex insurance transactions. Leading client relationships and managing M&A and regulatory matters with international collaboration.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and manage complex insurance M&A, joint ventures, and corporate restructurings
- Advise on portfolio transfers, including Part VII court-sanctioned processes
- Provide strategic guidance on UK and EU insurance regulatory matters, including PRA/FCA requirements, governance, and conduct issues
- Act as a senior client contact, developing and maintaining long-term relationships with major insurers, reinsurers, and intermediaries
- Supervise, mentor, and develop junior lawyers within the team
- Support business development initiatives, thought leadership, and client-facing projects across the firm’s insurance platform
- Collaborate with colleagues globally on multi-disciplinary and cross-border matters.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Qualified solicitor (England & Wales) with 7+ PQE in corporate or corporate insurance work
- Strong experience advising insurers, reinsurers, brokers, MGAs, or other regulated financial services clients
- Proven track record leading complex transactions and managing senior-level client relationships
- Excellent technical skills, commercial judgement, and the ability to deliver clear, pragmatic advice
- Experience supervising junior lawyers and contributing to team leadership
- Ambition to progress within a global, high-performing practice.
