About the role
- Advising insurers and insureds on complex professional indemnity claims
- Handling high-value and sensitive matters across a broad range of professions
- Managing claims from inception through to resolution, including litigation, mediation and settlement
- Acting as a trusted adviser to key insurer and broker clients
- Supervising, mentoring and developing junior lawyers within the team
- Supporting partners with business development, including client pitches and panel tenders
- Contributing to the strategic growth and profile of the National PI practice
Requirements
- Qualified solicitor in England & Wales (or equivalent common law jurisdiction)
- Significant post-qualification experience in professional indemnity insurance
- Strong technical expertise in PI policy wordings, coverage issues and claims handling
- Proven ability to manage complex, high-value matters with a high degree of autonomy
- Excellent client-handling skills with a commercial and solutions-focused approach
- Experience mentoring junior lawyers and contributing positively to team culture
- Interest in business development and practice growth
