About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Advising insurers and insureds on complex professional indemnity claims
  • Handling high-value and sensitive matters across a broad range of professions
  • Managing claims from inception through to resolution, including litigation, mediation and settlement
  • Acting as a trusted adviser to key insurer and broker clients
  • Supervising, mentoring and developing junior lawyers within the team
  • Supporting partners with business development, including client pitches and panel tenders
  • Contributing to the strategic growth and profile of the National PI practice

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Qualified solicitor in England & Wales (or equivalent common law jurisdiction)
  • Significant post-qualification experience in professional indemnity insurance
  • Strong technical expertise in PI policy wordings, coverage issues and claims handling
  • Proven ability to manage complex, high-value matters with a high degree of autonomy
  • Excellent client-handling skills with a commercial and solutions-focused approach
  • Experience mentoring junior lawyers and contributing positively to team culture
  • Interest in business development and practice growth
