About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, implement, and maintain software systems comprising Cloudflare’s Application Security Product Offering, including Rate Limiting and Web Application Firewall
Participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle, from system design and documentation through coding, automated testing, and production deployment monitoring
Collaborate with security, network engineering, SRE, and product management teams to design scalable solutions
Review peer work throughout the development lifecycle to ensure high-quality, maintainable code
Mentor team members and work with support teams to ensure customer delight
Debug issues in complex systems and improve operational health
Work with Rust, Go, databases, Docker, and Kubernetes

Requirements

What you’ll need

3+ years of relevant professional experience with a technology company
Strong programming skills in Rust, Go, C++, or a similar systems-level language
Experience building and operating distributed systems
Experience with monitoring, alerting and debugging high volume production systems
Experience with databases, including PostgreSQL, Clickhouse and Memcached
Experience with modern Unix/Linux development and runtime environments
Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus and Grafana
Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes
Flexibility to be on-call outside of standard working hours as needed
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating empathy, teamwork and a sense of ownership
