About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Help customers build digital transformation strategies using Cloudflare technologies and platform
Understand customer journeys and help identify, understand, and scope needs as they replace or migrate from existing edge cloud and on-premises technologies
Guide customers in building roadmaps toward next-generation secure digital architectures using Cloudflare’s platform
Build and maintain long-term technical relationships with strategic accounts
Ensure successful design, proof, and adoption of Cloudflare as critical customer infrastructure
Drive strategic conversations with key stakeholders to increase Cloudflare’s reputation, authority, and customer footprint
Collaborate with specialists, architects, and subject matter experts across diverse functions
Provide consultation throughout strategic engagements, from account planning and vision setting through Solution Design
Support Business Value Assessment creation and delivery
Contribute industry expertise to Cloudflare’s go-to-market strategy and platform evolution
Travel up to 40% during the quarter for partner engagements, conferences, industry events, and teammate collaboration

Requirements

What you’ll need

15+ years of prior Technical Sales, Engineering, and/or first-hand industry experience required
Demonstrable experience in building trust and maintaining relationships with key customer stakeholders
Strong understanding of both business strategy and technology at a deep level
Awareness of government and industry standards, frameworks and compliance requirements, including HIPAA, PCI, SOX, FEDRAMP, GDPR, and NIS2
Experience designing architecture, migration, and implementation of cloud, edge, and on-premises technologies from industry incumbent legacy providers and solutions
Ability to understand customer scope and mission, including technology decision drivers in large government and education organizations
Understanding of risk management and ability to articulate organizational risk impact in government terms
Familiarity with regulatory guidelines and constraints affecting technology modernization
Ability to engage across diverse technical domains
Authorization to receive software or technology controlled under U.S. export laws without sponsorship for an export license may be required
