About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build out and expand Cloudflare’s global network
Work with SRE, Network Engineering, hardware vendors, datacenter and network providers, ISPs, and other partners
Plan and execute network expansion projects
Develop and implement consistent infrastructure processes and visibility measurements
Create documentation and manage remote contractors for datacenter installations and upgrades
Build rack elevations and coordinate global infrastructure racking and cabling
Coordinate installation of cross-connects for physical network expansion
Define, document, and implement processes across regions
Introduce scalable technology and automation solutions to improve global infrastructure deployment and maintenance

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum of 2 years of related data center or Linux systems administration experience
Linux/Unix systems administration
Basic configuration management tool experience such as Saltstack, Chef, Puppet, or Ansible
Network hardware administration
Familiarity with day-to-day Data Center Operations tasks and projects
Ability to write scripts for internal tools
Experience running and improving operational processes in a rapidly changing environment
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or MIS is desirable, not required
Experience executing datacenter/infrastructure projects with many moving parts
Experience installing and maintaining datacenter and other IT infrastructure and DCIM tools
Strong verbal and written communication, problem-solving, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills
Ability to learn quickly and execute multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to manage Microsoft Excel and Google spreadsheets
Basic program management responsibilities, including prioritization, planning, scheduling, and status reporting, using tools such as JIRA
Experience managing remote contractors
Bonus: Linux certifications, OSI model knowledge, network/hardware/software issue isolation, Bash/Python/Go, and load balancing/reverse proxy tools such as Nginx, Varnish, HAProxy, or Apache
Export-control authorization may be required without sponsorship for an export license
