About the role
- Build and operate systems that terminate HTTP and TLS at Internet scale
- Migrate core infrastructure from NGINX to a next-gen Rust-based proxy
- Measure and improve protocol performance across real-world traffic
- Contribute to open source and industry standards and collaborate closely with the IETF
- Work on high-performance systems influencing Internet standards (QUIC, MASQUE, ECH)
- Learn from and work alongside leading engineers in networking and security
Requirements
- Solid systems programming experience (Rust, C, or similar)
- Experience/understanding of HTTP/2, HTTP/3, QUIC, congestion control, or transport-layer protocols
- Ability to thrive in complex technical domains and eagerness to learn
- Care about building reliable, secure, and performant software
- Motivation by technical and operational impact on the Internet
- Hiring focused on those residing within the greater Austin, TX metro area (hybrid)
- May require access to information protected under U.S. export control laws; offers may be conditioned on authorization to receive controlled software/technology without sponsorship for an export license
- Bonus:
