About the role

  • Build and operate systems that terminate HTTP and TLS at Internet scale
  • Migrate core infrastructure from NGINX to a next-gen Rust-based proxy
  • Measure and improve protocol performance across real-world traffic
  • Contribute to open source and industry standards and collaborate closely with the IETF
  • Work on high-performance systems influencing Internet standards (QUIC, MASQUE, ECH)
  • Learn from and work alongside leading engineers in networking and security

Requirements

  • Solid systems programming experience (Rust, C, or similar)
  • Experience/understanding of HTTP/2, HTTP/3, QUIC, congestion control, or transport-layer protocols
  • Ability to thrive in complex technical domains and eagerness to learn
  • Care about building reliable, secure, and performant software
  • Motivation by technical and operational impact on the Internet
  • Hiring focused on those residing within the greater Austin, TX metro area (hybrid)
  • May require access to information protected under U.S. export control laws; offers may be conditioned on authorization to receive controlled software/technology without sponsorship for an export license
  • Bonus:
