About the role

  • As a software engineer on the Cloudflare Network Interconnect team, you will be a key technical contributor to the control and data planes of custom network infrastructure, operating systems, and APIs supporting the Cloudflare Network Interconnect product.
  • You will enable customers of Magic Transit, Magic WAN, and other Cloudflare products to connect to Cloudflare over private and high speed data center interconnects.
  • You will build software on top of one of the largest edge networks in the world, and partner with some of the best engineers and product managers to build a robust and automated control plane for managing the fleet of servers driving hundreds of gigs of customer traffic.

Requirements

  • 3 years of relevant Software Engineering or SRE experience
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Rust programming
  • Experience building on top of Linux networking primitives - e.g. ip, tc, network namespaces, etc
  • Familiarity with network engineering and protocols used in data center switching and routing - e.g. BGP, BFD, VXLAN, etc
  • Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs and backend systems, especially asynchronous architectures and those deployed onto serverless platforms like Cloudflare Workers
  • Experience with running virtual machines on Linux
  • Able to work across teams and level common, sustainable solutions
  • Focus on clarity in written and verbal communication
