About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead and plan the technical documentation strategy for a group of Cloudera products and/or platform components
Drive content development and technical documentation initiatives of the designated team
Write installation guides, user guides, system administrator guides, how-to articles, tutorials, demo videos, and best practices
Handle ad-hoc documentation changes at short notice
Partner with the User Experience team to contribute textual content within the product user interface
Create videos to assist end-users with Cloudera products and components
Partner with internal tools, product management, engineering, and engineering program management teams to validate and publish technical content to the Cloudera Documentation portal
Work across time zones with globally distributed teams

Requirements

What you’ll need

Proficiency in written English
Excellent writing and editing skills
4 or more years of experience writing technical documentation for technical audiences such as database administrators, system administrators, or data cluster operators
Experience using an XML/DITA authoring tool such as Oxygen XML
Experience using GitHub
Knowledge of typical IT or data cluster job tasks
Knowledge of data warehousing technologies or use cases
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to adapt to different methods of obtaining information from subject matter experts
Ability to adapt to changing responsibilities, situations, tools, and requirements
Ability to learn new technical subject matter quickly
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with minimal supervision
Ability to work across time zones with globally distributed teams
Writing samples and references are required
