About the role
- Design and implement high-performance backend services that can withstand massive throughput
- Own the challenge of data integrity and solve problems regarding distributed consistency
- Build systems that fail gracefully with advanced patterns to prevent system overload
- Ensure stateful applications can run reliably in dynamic environments like Kubernetes
- Analyse JVM internals, garbage collection pauses, and thread contention to optimise data pipelines
Requirements
- 7+ years of backend engineering experience with a focus on data-intensive applications or distributed systems
- Expert-level mastery of Java is required
- Strong grasp of distributed systems theory (CAP theorem, consensus algorithms, eventual consistency)
- Strong understanding of modern orchestration principles (e.g., Kubernetes)
- Comfortable reading and debugging code in other languages
