About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Serve as a trusted partner to the Malaria and Community Health Worker (CHW) departments, providing support for data analysis as needed.
Support the rollout and monitor the performance of existing and new surveillance processes and platforms to improve data collection, reporting, data management, automated analysis, and data visualization (e.g., dashboards).
Help embed a culture of data-driven decision-making by improving data quality and use, and translating findings into actionable programmatic insights through high-quality presentations and reports.
Support institutionalization of routine data reviews at all levels, including development and use of data collection tools and dashboards (e.g., Tableau, DHIS2).
Contribute to the development of disease program documents, including surveillance guidelines and SOPs, M&E plans, lessons-learned reports, and operational manuals.
Support development and implementation of comprehensive research protocols, including sampling design, creation of data collection instruments, and preparation of analysis plans, ensuring effective operationalization during field implementation.
Represent CHAI at external technical meetings with local academic and technical partners.
Maintain a high standard of ethical conduct and ensure data privacy.
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Master’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Statistics, or a related field.
Minimum 2 years of professional experience with increasing responsibility and leadership, including program management.
Experience conducting and managing epidemiological research in-country, including analysis of surveillance and survey data.
Proficiency in data entry, data management, epidemiological and statistical analysis using software such as R, Stata, and/or other relevant tools.
Strong interest in applying research methods to address global health challenges, with a focus on malaria.
Experience working and communicating with government officials and external partners.
High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and web/internet applications.
Ability to work independently in remote and unstructured settings and adapt to new environments and challenges.
Ability to perform effectively under pressure.
Ability to collaborate and work effectively as part of a multicultural team.
Excellent written and oral communication skills in both French and English, with the ability to deliver persuasive presentations and produce clear reports.
Willingness to travel 30–50% of the time.
