Design and implement market shaping strategies to increase access to key commodities
Manage the supply-side strategy and develop expertise in a range of relevant areas (including pharmaceutical costing and production economics, product development and commercialization strategies, financial and market analyses, and relationship management)
Work with GMT leadership, other CHAI teams and external stakeholders to develop work plans that support marketing shaping goals and achieve grant deliverables
Manage the delivery of complex, multi-stakeholder projects ensuring high quality, on time delivery of objectives
Cultivate strong relationships with senior executives of drug and diagnostics companies, and governmental, multilateral, and non-governmental organizations
Lead negotiations with pharmaceutical and diagnostic companies on pricing and supply terms and support other members of the Global Markets Team as they prepare for and lead negotiations
Proactively identify opportunities to shape market dynamics for key products needed in LMICs and evaluate market opportunities for new drugs and diagnostic
Represent CHAI effectively to major donors and external partners
Engage CHAI’s scientific experts to provide technical support to suppliers as needed on topics ranging from product prioritization, production planning, regulatory approval processes, drug quality issues, demand forecasting, etc.
Build and maintain institutional capacity and facilitate opportunities for knowledge sharing
Effectively manage oneself, direct, and/or indirect reports within a matrixed organization
Other responsibilities as needed.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent plus 10 years work experience; or Advanced Degree or equivalent plus 8 years work experience; or equivalent work experience
Experience working in the private sector, ideally in strategy consulting, sales and marketing, and/or investment banking or similar fast-paced, results-oriented environments such as in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, diagnostic or medical device industries
Exceptional analytical (qualitative and quantitative) and communication (written and verbal) skills; detail oriented
Creative thinker, enabling development of transformational solutions to global health problems
Entrepreneurial mindset, including ability to work independently, self-motivate, and propose and implement new ideas
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and set priorities
Strong desire to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment; demonstrated ability to build strong relationships quickly, externally and internally
Ability to absorb and synthesize a broad range of information, including financial, regulatory, pharmaceutical, and scientific information
Willingness to travel frequently
High level of proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Exceptional communication skills with ability to diplomatically and clearly communicate complex ideas with well-developed structure and logic
Ability to navigate complex government processes and favourably influence decision-making in a professional and collaborative manner
