About the role

  • Provide professional accounting, budgeting, compliance, payroll, treasury, and HR support within the CHAI Papua New Guinea office.
  • Lead the development of the annual office budget and all donor-specific program budgets, recommending budget adjustments
  • Monitor country financial performance against budget, identify variances, and provide timely analysis and recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Implement all necessary internal accounting and control procedures.
  • Manage the country’s treasury function (cash, bank, receivables, and payables).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • ACCA/CPA -PNG- Papua New Guinea qualification
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) is an advantage
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in financial management or operations within an international NGO or similar environment.
  • Strong analytical and financial modelling skills; advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).
  • Proven ability to implement internal controls and manage compliance in a complex donor-funded environment.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and team collaboration skills.
