About the role
- Lead the refinement and implementation of CHAI Zimbabwe’s HIV Prevention strategy aligned with global prevention shifts—emphasizing long-acting PrEP (Lenacapavir, CAB-LA), market sustainability, and integration into broader SRHR and primary health care platforms
- Provide strategic and technical leadership to MoHCC and partners to accelerate adoption, demand generation, and scale-up of new HIV prevention technologies
- Support the Ministry to strengthen coordination, planning, and transition management for prevention programs, ensuring continuity and efficiency as donor funding landscapes evolve
- Lead analytical work to inform policy and program decisions—covering resource tracking, costing, scenario analysis, and health financing strategies to enhance domestic investment and sustainability
- Generate high-quality written outputs, including policy briefs, donor reports, and technical documents that synthesize evidence and drive decision-making
- Manage and mentor a team of professionals, fostering strong performance, innovation, and learning
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with government, donors, implementing partners, and research institutions to drive aligned, evidence-based prevention strategies
- Ensure documentation, dissemination, and cross-country learning on combination HIV prevention and health financing innovations
- Support business development, donor engagement, and proposal writing aligned to CHAI’s HIV prevention and health systems agenda
- Conduct other relevant activities as required
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in public health, economics, health policy, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in HIV prevention, SRHR, or broader public health program management
- Demonstrated expertise in end-to-end program management spanning multiple health system pillars — governance, financing, supply chain, human resources, service delivery, and information systems
- Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives that require coordination across government and donor stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in program design, costing, performance monitoring, or health systems strengthening
- Excellent writing, synthesis, and presentation skills, capable of translating technical evidence into policy-relevant insights
- Experience engaging and influencing senior government, donor, and civil society stakeholders in dynamic, multipartner environments
- Demonstrated ability to manage and mentor teams, delegate effectively, and maintain accountability under pressure
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and comfort using data visualization or analytical tools
